In this research, preconcentration of Cu2+ using Chelex-100 as chelating agent has been proposed. Sample was taken from Citarum river and Saguling dam. The number of Cu2+ in sample was measured by atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS). In this research, contact time between Cu2+ and resin was determined, and also the influence of pH to Cu2+ absorption was observed. To obtain exact concentration of eluent, the concentration variation of HCl has been done. Resin capacity was determined. Concentration of Cu2+ in sample was measured using AAS. Absorbance was plotted to calibration curve, then concentration Cu2+ in sample can be known. Hope this methode can be used for preconcentrating other heavy metals and negative impact of heavy metals can be avoided. text |
