A place where people invest is in the Indonesian capital market, which is managed by the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The market is critical for a country because it is a place where money moves from those who have it to those who need it for productivity. So that by actively participating, the community will encourage economic improvement, especially after the pandemic. According to data from KSEI, there has been a significant increase in the number of investors in the last 2 years, but this figure is still relatively small because only 3% of Indonesians invest in the capital market, and this increased percentage of the female who lives far from the male. This shows that there are differences in investment behavior between males and females. because females play a vital role in the modern economy, they are more educated and have control over their own financial decisions. And because of the various limitations that the researcher has, this research will focus on examining the behavior of individual females in the context of SBM ITB students and identifying gender differences in the investment behavior of SBM ITB students. The research population is all students of SBM ITB and sampling using a purposive sampling technique with the criteria being those who are active investors in the capital market. This research is a comparative study with a quantitative method approach. For the technique of collecting data through surveys. for the data analysis technique using the Mann-Whitney U Test method, designed for comparative research by comparing two independent samples that are not normally distributed and trying to see if the difference is significant. This study found that female students tend to have risk tolerance. lower self-confidence and investment literacy levels than male students. However, both male and female students tended to be easy to lead in investing. So that these results can as a reference for higher education institutions or capital market school providers to further encourage women to invest, because of the importance of public participation in the capital market of a country. text |
