On the other hand, the fashion industry is also the second largest water user, accounting for 20 percent of the world's water pollution due to dumping half a million tons of synthetic microfibers into the sea every year. Currently dyeing textile materials using synthetic dyes can damage the environment, this research develops a natural dye innovation process for textile processing from the use of coconut fiber. Indonesia is one of the largest coconut producing countries in the world with a total production of coconuts of approximately 14 billion grains per year. This study aims to utilize coconut fiber which is used as an innovation in textile processing that promotes environmentally friendly products and can be accepted by the wider community. This study applies and selects coconut coir material to be part of a modest fashion development program, so that coconut coir can have an additional economic value impact on people living around coconut plantations. text
