There are many kind of flood controls method which done since Netherland Colonialism era until now, but the prloblems of flood that appear are more complecated with multiple science which related. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> During activity of flood control, three was a concept which issued by Prof. H. Van Breen (1918) that explained Master Plan of Jakartas Flood Control in comprehensive stage. For additional information, Batavia had 125 km2 when Prof. H. Van Breen arranged The Master Plan of Jakartas Flood Control. But, according the improvement of Jakartas area (650 km2 in 1974) there have been needed some modification of flood control concept to support the last mechanism, especially in relation with run off control from the up stream of Ciliwung Basin. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Cause of flood that will try to analyze in thesis is run off which consist from local run off and up stream run off, with use reservoir in Ciliwung Basin. Reservoir which recommended should has capability to receiving run off from up stream, and should give advantages for the people, until it able to reduce the hydrograph and increase the time lag of run off. Based the needed of reservoir are the increasement of rainfall intensity, especially at the peak of rainy season, and followed by the change of land use at catchments area in large proportion, until give contribution to increasement of run off coefficient which show how reduction of soil capability for doing infiltration process. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Reservoir alternatives which recommended have position at middle stream (Bojonggede), and up stream (Ciawi). The choosen of those alternatives done by analyze natural potention (topography), and the planning of land use in future based of relevant government policy. Another concept that principle is the change of hydrograph composition escecially after the Ciliwung basin has reservoir, and streamflow after reservoir simulation operation. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> By calculating, data analyzing, and modeling which done by using software HEC RAS 3.1.3, show eventhough using reservoir there is no significant influence for Jakarta flood reduction as ideal condition. However, with resrevoir in Ciliwung basin will reduce the streamflow, and make later time of concentration which give more times to government to doing the right of flood disaster tackling, and doing the evacuation in flood endangered areas. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Finally, the reservoir which recommended is only an effort that will not give significant contribution without support from another flood control method. Because of that, there are need corelation performance from all flood control method, and interdependent support another method until find the perfect rules of performance in the future. <br /> text
