This is caused by the supposedly integrated learning and leisure function is not facilitated properly. The current library space also has to adapt with generation Z preferences and needs. Moreover, academic libraries also need to adapt to technological advances as a response to digitization. The data collection method in this thesis was carried out by literature study related to informal learning space theory and library typological study, field observations as a design context, and online questionnaires to examine the preferences of generation Z users. The questionnaire analysis method used quantitative and regression analysis. The research output is a criteria diagram and characteristics of informal learning space, which includes several cateories such as Functionality, Comfort, Autonomy, Spatial Configuration and Support Facility. The design process is aimed to accommodate various types of learning activities and study groups with the concept of activity layering. Furniture and configuration of spaces are arranged according to the activity and study groups with the concept of noise layering. The design also aimed to fulfill architectural and interior design needs and preferences, including maximizes indoor spaces, visual access and natural lighting, integrating digital technology in building systems and provide leisure spaces in design. text |
