INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/67126 Agriculture is a perishable commodity whose quality and freshness can be reduced in a short time. An effective and efficient supply chain system. The concept of a local food system is a supply chain concept that aims to shorten the food supply chain. The food hub is one such intermediary actor with an essential role in strengthening the local food system and increasing the competence of small farmers to compete with largescale food distribution. Changing the supply chain system to one based on a local food system is challenging. This study was conducted in the Bandung Regency, which consists of urban and rural areas. The successful implementation of a food hub based on a local food system can increase the competence of farmers to sell their commodities to large-scale buyers. On the consumer side, this concept can increase access to healthy food. This study aims to build coordination activities model that describes the activities and coordination of the actors involved in a food hub to achieve a local food system. This study uses a soft system methodology and case study approach to answer the research question. The study results show that two transformations are needed to achieve a local food system: changing the supply chain system to one that is shorter and more structured and increasing quality consistency. Recommendations are presented in the form of a series of coordination activity systems to achieve transformations. The theoretical implication of this research is to contribute to developing the existing literature on the implementation of the food hub in the planning stage. The practical implication of this study is to provide coordination strategies and system activities that can attract highdemand customers and farmers to switch from a long and unstructured agriculture supply chain to a shorter and structured supply chain to achieve a local food system. The social implication of this research is to provide recommendations for activities and coordination to create a local food system through a food hub. Keywords: food hub, local food system, soft system methodology, case study approach. text
