Summary: | Aquaculture is very important to balance fish production in Indonesia, which currently relies too much on the capture fisheries sector. The altenative way to aquaculture is floating cages. Grouper is a suitable commodity for cultivation with floating cages, in addition to the high selling price, market demand is still not being met (Sangaji and Suhardi, 2019). Even Indonesia is an archipelagic country, which means it has a larger coastal area, not all coastal waters of Indonesia are suitable for floating cages cultivation. In this study, The data used are field data and sentinel-2 satellite data on 2021. In addition is mapping of the suitability location for cultivation with floating cages in Madura Strait. The suitability location of sea water for floating cages is categorized into 3 groups which are very suitable (S1), suitable (S2), and not suitable (N). Mapping the location for suitability of waters for aquaculture with floating cages in Madura Strait results, The western part of Madura Strait which includes: Pasuruan, Sidoarjo, Surabaya, Bangkalan and parts of coast Probolinggo and Sampang are included as suitable category (S2) with average score 56.4. for Situbondo, Pamekasan, Sampang, Sumenep and part of Probolinggo and Sampang are included as very suitable category (S1) with average score 71.6.
