Description
Summary:Production orders could not be accomplished on schedule because they had been obstacles in production processes such as tools are not ready when needed. Percentage of non-value-added activity and delay activity were 57% based process activity mapping for tool lending system. This non-value-added and delay activity causes unable to completed product on schedule because lack of tool management system. Poor tool management system caused by shabby tool requirement planning, tool inventory system and tool flow control which had an impact on tool obtainability. Lack of tool management system was not only affected for tool availability, but also for operator movement. The more operator’s movement the more order not achieved. Application of Industry 4.0 could be used for development tool management system. Industry 4.0 concept used in this research was cyber physical system. Through the cyber physical system, virtual models created, which will make it easier to obtain data in real time, the data will be processed into information that can facilitate decision making. The application of the concept of cyber physical system in this case can be done by creating virtual models such as database models, providing identity for each tool that will be distributed and performing a scanning process for each tool that will be distributed as a data collection process in real time. The concept of cyber physical system technology will make it easier for tool operators to control the distribution of tools by only detecting the presence of tools through a system made without seeing directly the physical presence of the tool. This tool management was expected to bring changes such as planning strategies to ensure that tool was available when needed and with the number as needed, better inventory and tool flow control could be guaranteed the availability of tool, procedure lending system tool simpler, and did not require the operator to performed a lot of moving activities. Other benefits of implementation Industry 4.0 concept for development tool management system also had an impact on reducing delay and non-value-added activities.
