The understanding of the ALAN effects on nocturnal insect communities is still limited, even though the existence of nocturnal insects has a major ecological role. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of ALAN on the community and the func-tional role (guild) of the nocturnal aerial insect. The research was conducted in the Urban-Agro area in Bandung which consist of Cultivated land, Meadow, and Calliandra Plantation. In each type of land use, two plots were se-lected, one of which was provided with LED as night lighting. In each plot, 8 traps were placed (15cm x 15cm x 40 cm3). The collection was carried out for 3 nights during the new moon period. Every night, samples were collected and preserved inside 70% alcohol solution for identification. This activity was carried out in January, February, March, and May 2021. Data analysis was carried out by comparing nocturnal aerial insect communities between artificial and non-artificial light fields. During the research, 13 orders consisting of 174 species of aerial insects were collected. The insects Orders based on species richness from high to low respectively are Diptera, Coleoptera, Hymenoptera, Hemiptera, Lepidoptera, Psocoptera, Orthoptera, Mantoptera, Thysanoptera, Phasmatodea, Neuroptera, Dermaptera, and Isoptera. Artificial Light at Night is affecting the nocturnal aerial insect community. The species richness of Hemiptera, Diptera and Hymenoptera in ALAN illuminated area was greater than in dark areas. While the highest difference in abundance was observed in the order Hymenoptera on light area, 37% greater than in dark area. The abundance of herbivores, carnivores and parasitoids under the artificial light fields was greater than that of non-artificial light fields text
