| Summary: | PT Cahaya Perada Abadi (PT CPA) is an MSME (Micro, Small and Medium
Enterprises) engaged in manufacturing. PT CPA serves golf gloves manufacturing
from PT Adira Semesta Industry (PT Adira) orders. As a subsidiary of PT Adira,
PT CPA is trying to increase its production capacity so that it can serve more orders
from PT Adira. PT CPA wants to increase daily production output to 53 boxes/day.
The current daily production output is still at 26 boxes/day. PT CPA applies a piece
rate pay system. Operators try to complete as many boxes as possible so that the
wages they receive are also high. In this research, improvement was proposed to
the operator assignment for each operation on the production line.
The research was done with the operator assignment model. The model used is in
the form of linear programming. The operator assignment model used has an
objective function to minimize operator idle time. The operator assignment model
solution searching process is performed using CPLEX Studio IDE 20.1.0 software.
From the computational results with CPLEX, it is found that PT CPA requires a
total of 52 operators with the needs of 1-5 people in each process. With this
operator assignment, PT CPA can achieve its daily production target.
