INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/67213 As time goes by, the population in Indonesia is increasing, but the available vacant land is decreasing. Therefore, the available land needs to be utilized as much as possible and as effectively as possible. However, nowadays abandoned buildings are mushrooming and consuming a lot of land in several areas, one of which is in the Segitiga Kosambi shopping area, Bandung. The Segitiga Kosambi shopping area is located on Jalan Ahmad Yani, Bandung. According to RDTR, the area is designated as a trade and service area. However, the existence of shops in the Segitiga Kosambi has decreased due to market disruption and decreased space quality, so that visitor interest decreases and traders move locations, even out of business. One of the shopping centers in the Segitiga Kosambi that is still operating today is Jaya Plaza. Jaya Plaza or also known as Bandung Computer Mall is one of the best and first shopping centers and electronic service centers in the city of Bandung. This shop still survives and attracts visitors because it is complete, cheap, fast, and reliable. Jaya plaza experienced a fire in 2016, until now several floors in the building are still abandoned and look shabby, this has resulted in the number of visitors being reduced from before. Ekomadyo (2021) states that the most dominant force in a city is the political economy, as the saying goes, where there is sugar, there are ants, where there is money, that is where the city's activities are concentrated. Therefore, it is necessary to redesign the Jaya Plaza which can potentially become a source of economic strength in the region. In this report, we will discuss the redesign of Jaya Plaza Bandung, which has experienced a decline in the quality of space and function, to become an electronic shopping center with an open, recreational, and inclusive concept with a “sense of community” approach. This is one of the efforts to solve the problems of market disruption and abandoned buildings that occurred in the Segitiga Kosambi Bandung. The results of the redesign are expected to create a communal space to increase the attractiveness and competitiveness of Jaya Plaza, so that the number of visitors will increase. The target market is prioritized for people from teenagers to adults with middle and lower middle economic groups. This is also expected to improve the economy of Jaya Plaza and the surrounding area and revive abandoned shops in the area. text
