Summary: | Diabetes mellitus or often known as diabetes is a chronic metabolic disease or disorder with multiple etiologies characterized by high blood sugar levels accompanied by impaired carbohydrate, lipid, and protein metabolism as a result of insulin function insufficient. Insufficiency of insulin function can be caused by impaired or deficient insulin production by the beta cells of Langerhans of the pancreas, or caused by a lack of responsiveness of the body’s cells to insulin. Poor lifestyle such as lack of physical activity and unhealthy diet can increase the risk of developing diabetes. A person’s lifestyle can be influenced by the lifestyle of the people around him. People who have a healthy lifestyle can have an unhealthy lifestyle because they often interact with people who have an unhealthy lifestyle so that the risk of getting diabetes can increase. So far, no effective treatment has been found to cure diabetes mellitus. If not treated properly, this disease can result in dysfunction and failure of the work of various organs, especially the eyes, kidneys, nerves, and blood tissue or are often referred to as complications. Diabetes mellitus is a disease that can’t be cured, however, with good and appropriate treatment to control blood sugar levels, it’s hoped that it can prevent and inhibit complications in people with diabetes mellitus. In this final project will be built a mathematical model of the spread of diabetes mellitus through lifestyle factors by receiving treatment and not receiving treatment. |
