INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/67321 Hydrological natural disasters often occur due to global warming, such as flood disaster. Flood shipments originating from various upstream and downstream in the Citarum River traversed in Andir area in Baleendah because it’s location in the Bandung Basin, Ancient Lake in Ancient times. In Addition, the lack of trees and water-absorbing plants in the upstream, and the increasing rainfall happened in upstream area flows rapidly to downstream. However, the capacity of Citarum River downstream is insufficient, resulting in flooding with a depth of 30-300 cm on the plain near Citarum River within a period of 1-3 weeks. This flood disaster resulted in residents’ activities and lack of understanding about disaster mitigation as well as a lack of supporting facilities when a disaster occurred. Therefore, education-mitigation facilities and evacuation facilities are needed in the area, with amphibious architectural system. During dry season, the facility works as an educational space for residents/community, while during the rainy season the facility works as temporary evacuation facility. There were three issues discussed, implementing flood response buildings, educating about flood mitigation, and providing flood evacuation facilities. Implementation of flood disaster using two amphibious foundation systems, such as buoyant foundation and ark’a modulam foundation, lightweight and waterproof materials, modular building system, flexible function, integrated building system and site responses. Flood disaster mitigation-education implemented by providing indoor-outdoor educational spaces as well as on site experience with water-absorbing trees and vetiver plants. Provision of flood disaster facilities with clear circulation, adequate electricity sources, and room function transfers. text
