Summary: | DKI Jakarta as the capital city of the Republic of Indonesia has the highest value of GDP amongst all provinces, making it the main area for attracting mobility. The large number of residents who move to DKI Jakarta either permanently or non-permanently causes the movement within and outside the city to become congested. The congested movement within and outside the city needs adequate transportation infrastructure. Efforts made by the government to provide transportation infrastructure are by establishing a public transit network in the form of rail-based transportation (Commuter Line, MRT, LRT, etc.) and bus rapid transit (TransJakarta). Integrating the existing public transit network could enhance the quality of travel experience effectively and efficiently. Some of the efforts that have been built and developed is the integration between Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Rail, BRT Transjakarta, Light Rail Transit, and Halim Perdana Kusuma International Airport through Halim Station project.
As a response to the issue of the integration of intermodal transportation in Halim Perdana Kusuma, a transit hub is designed to contribute in enhancing connectivity and the use of public transit through various transportation modes. Initiated and carried out by the central government and PT KCIC, this project will function as a transit hub with additional functions such as commercial and open space to support economic activity and establishment of the local community. This project will be located in Wangko Road, Halim Perdana Kusuma, Makasar District, Jakarta Timur. With the concept of intermodal integration, efficient and easy wayfinding, and also an accessible facility, the project is expected to increase economic and land value in the area.
