INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/67323 These days, mental health issues run rife. But in the reality, in Indonesian society, there are still many stigmas about mental health. One of them is about mental health facilities, which are considered places for the insane, as well as dark and isolated places. That stigma is also accompanied by other stigmas, such as people with mental health disorders being considered crazy. Those stigmas are exacerbated by the facts about mental health in Indonesia. The number of people with mental disorders in 2018 increased dramatically from 2013. However, it is not proportional to the number of mental health facilities and medical personnel. Based on those facts, it is necessary to build a Mental Health Center that can meet the needs of health facilities while eliminating the stigma circulating in Indonesian society by providing mental health facilities that can heal. The Mental Health Center, which is equivalent to a Class C Mental Hospital, is located in Hasanudin Street, Cipondoh District, Tangerang City. The location was chosen based on the surrounding context, namely the Cipondoh District which does not yet have adequate health facilities even though the number of people with mental disorders is relatively high. The main concept for the design of Tangerang Mental Health Center is 'Healing Environment'. From that main concept, based on the SCP Model theory, three main design issues are formulated: (1) safety and security; (2) competence; and (3) personalization and choice. Each main concept point is broken down into three sub-issues so that there are nine sub-issues: the feeling of security, protecting the patient, mental hospital standards, promoting encounters, flexibility, positive distraction, privacy, promoting choices, and natural scenery. These nine sub-issues underlie the strategy of designing a Mental Health Center by implementing concepts. text
