Summary: | The freshwater aquaculture business has opportunities that continue to increase and can even exceed marine fish production. This condition has been seen since 2018 when the production of marine fish has decreased due to overfishing. Overfishing makes marine fish difficult to obtain, so a substitution in the form of freshwater fish is needed. Indonesia is a country with a high stunting rate, fish nutrition can play a role in reducing stunting rates. However, the level of fish consumption is still relatively low compared to the potential of fish resources produced by both marine and freshwater. The cause of the low level of consumption is the lack of public knowledge about the importance of eating fish, the limited variety of processed fish, and the hampered distribution of fish. The level of fish production is still not optimal due to bad management caused by cultivators who do not understand the cultivation technology. In addition, poor market conditions make cultivators unable to cover the production costs. Blitar Regency as the design location is an area developed into a minapolitan area that has a good agro-climate so that it has water quality and natural conditions that support freshwater aquaculture. This project will be designed in the Sub-Raiser of Penataran Village, Nglegok District which has been designated by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries as a minapolitan area. In order to support Blitar Regency to become a minapolitan area, a facility is designed to accommodate educational activities involving innovative technology, economic and tourism. The land has an area of 15000 m² which is located in Penataran Village, Nglegok District which has been designated by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries as a minapolitan area. The chosen site is in a strategic area because it is close to the tourist area of Penataran Temple. In addition, the site already has existing cultivation ponds and has fertile soil conditions with a variety of vegetation. The concept applied to the design of freshwater fish farming is “Integrated Aquaculture with Nature: learning and playing with fish among nature”. This concept is presented through the placement of building masses between natural features and cultivated ponds below. This is a form of response to the site, where there are many natural elements such as vegetation and water. Natural features can support learning activities, recreation and shopping for fish so that it can provide an interesting experience for visitors to give the impression of being in the natural habitat of fish. |
