The increasing rate of urbanization in the future will certainly produce various complex problems, one of them is slum settlements. A slum settlement is a highly populated urban residential area consisting of densely packed housing units of weak build quality and often associated with poverty. One of the most famous slum settlements is Kampung Pulo, part of Kampung Melayu, Jatinegara District, Jakarta Barat. The number of informal settlements built by the residents of Kampung Pulo on the banks of the Ciliwung River makes this area a frequent flood subject every rainy season. To solve the problem of slum settlements, the step that can be taken is by implementing the Kampung Susun program, as part of a comprehensive urban redevelopment in Jakarta City. The main focus of this project is to eliminate slums and provide affordable housing for the affected low-income communities who inhabit this area. The Kampung Susun project was initiated by the DKI Jakarta Government as an effort to implement a comprehensive urban redevelopment program. With the urban redevelopment program and the Kampung Susun project, it is hoped that the people of Kampung Pulo will get a decent life and housing as regulated in Article 28H of the 1945 Constitution while carrying out the mandate of the 2030 Agenda as attached to Sustainable Development Goals 11, which is to create sustainable cities and communities. text |
