INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/67422 PT LDP is private company which runs their business in coal mining industry, specifically in specifically to provide service in hauling and stockpile. This research will be focus on hauling services, where the company responsible to deliver the coal from the exploration area to the distribution area. The authors conduct direct observation to identify the current condition of the truck as the primary data and calculate the additional cost spent due to the lack of maintenance schedule. Secondary data is obtained through the analysis of internal and external data. The analysis using fishbone analysis and current reality tree shows that the company lack of maintenance system also leads to some controlled causes such as low efficiency of used fuel, decrease the number of assets, as well as high potential loss count as opportunity cost. Other than that, other external aspect such as the damaged roads potentially increase the possibility of the damage truck as the uncontrolled causes. The author suggests PT LDP to create structured maintenance system and also other aspect in operation which collate with maintenance. These aspects are fuel management, inventory manager, purchase order management, as well Standard Operating Procedures. The author believe that the best solution is the implementation of appropriate maintenance scheduling scheme at PT LDP. Based on the analysis, good maintenance helps to increase physical availability, then increase project performance. Moreover, maintenance scheduling arrangements contribute to company cost efficiency as it will reduce procurement cost and lower opportunity loss. The implementation of recommendation will be separate into three steps, which are building employees’ awareness, business process improvement, and employees’ training. The author conclude that the scheduling scheme need to be implemented at PT LDP is a structured maintenance system. Starting from fuel maintenance, driver delivery time sheet, daily inspection and maintenance, maintenance scheduling through maintenance dashboard, and launch new standard operating procedure for hauling project itself to capture all the new initiative regarding to hauling maintenance system. The reduction in procurement costs will also be supported by inventory data collection, structured purchasing procedures, and new standard operating procedures for the procurement process. text |
