Description
Summary:ABSTRACT DESIGN OF SERVICE ORIENTED PLATFORM FOR REMOTE SENSING SATELLITE DATA MANAGEMENT (Case Study: Parepare Remote Sensing Earth Station) By Nurmajid Setyasaputra NIM: 23219322 (Master’s Program in Electrical Engineering) National Institute of Aeronautics and Space (LAPAN) has a role to carry out research and development in the field of aerospace and its use, including the provision of remote sensing data. The development and development of the National Remote Sensing Data Bank (BDPJN) as a data center for acquisition, processing, storage, and management and distribution of satellite remote sensing data on national priorities is a tangible form. In addition, LAPAN, which is currently integrated into the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), also has the task of coordinating with remote sensing ground stations in Indonesia through national remote sensing ground stations. One of them is the Parepare Ground Station which has an important role in generating data to meet the continuity of national data availability in Indonesia. Therefore, remote sensing satellite data management activities at ground stations are important to be developed in data management and distribution activities because of the silo culture in existing software and are still made based on the need to facilitate work. The use of servicebased information technology in this activity is needed to find out the gaps that exist between business processes and systems that run with the needs of the organization by using a Service-oriented Platform through Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) approach. In this research, the Services Computing Systems Engineering (SCSE) Framework is used to design a service-based platform for remote sensing ground station data management. The design focuses on the analysis of on-going business services and information technology (IT) services coupled with the needs and objectives of the organization to produce business service model and IT services and service system architecture that can be a general guide in data management at ground stations. The design of the remote sensing satellite data management platform at the ground station has been evaluated and has coupling factor value of 0.0057 (loosely coupled), cohesion factor value of 0.8145 (high cohesion), complexity factor value of 0.0070 (not complex), and reusability factor value is 2.5833 (reusable).
