INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/67431 Despite new technologies and advances in modern dentistry, dental anxiety continues to be a problem affecting all age populations. Dental anxiety is more common in younger adults than older people. One of the causes of dental anxiety is the clinical appearance or physical environment. The physical environment of the dental clinic makes it less comfortable for patients, this is due to the application of colors that seem cold. Color is an important element in interior design. Color can create a certain atmosphere and impression that can affect the comfort of each user of the space. Of the many colors, blue and green are considered the most effective colors in reducing anxiety in humans. Applying these colors to the dental clinic examination room can be a solution to overcoming dental anxiety in patients. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of blue and green colors and identify the most effective colors in reducing dental anxiety in early adult patients. There have not been many studies on the influence of the physical environment on dental anxiety that have focused on adult patients from an interior design point of view. In addition, no recommendations for color design and application positions have been found that can reduce anxiety. The method consists of several stages: literature study, observation, interviews, and experiments. Experiments using digital simulations with VR Goggles. Anxiety was measured through the Modified Dental Anxiety Scale (MDAS) questionnaire and the measurement of physiological signs through the pulse. The data will be analyzed through the repeated measure analysis technique ANOVA and post hoc test follow-up. The results showed that the appearance of the examination room with blue accents on the ceiling was the most effective display for overcoming dental anxiety compared to green accents or a combination of the two colors. The blue color specification is blue (Pantone 2935 C). While the appearance of the room that makes the most anxious and is considered uncomfortable is the control room and the room with a combination of green and blue colors text
