Hair is a very important body part. Hair serves not only to protect the scalp from heat and cold, but also beautify one's appearance. In recent years, world hair trends have penetrated not only through haircuts, but also hair dye. Dying hair is actually not a simple thing because it will exposing body with chemicals. However, teenagers tend to be reckless and don’t think wisely about hair dye decisions. As a result, many cases of fail hair dye, nor health problems such as skin irritation, eye irritation, respiratory problems, and allergic reactions. Although it has various health threats, hair dying is actually not a life-threatening activity if it’s done safely, wisely, and with full of commitment. Unfortunately, hair dye wise decision-making and commitment are less exposed than the new color trends that interest teenagers. The purpose of designing an illustration book on hair dying for young women aged 18-25 years is to make Indonesian young women to be more educated about hair dying, so that they can be wiser in making hair dying decisions. In this design, the author uses pre-production and production design methods. Preproduction stage contains of learning various things about hair coloring and elements in the illustration book media through literature studies and interviews. Production stage contains of making design decisions and the design process by considering design principles. The design process begins with determining the design concept, creating characters, assets, sketches, coloring, and finally the layout. The design keywords chosen were colorful, vibrant, and stylish following young women preferences and image From all the stages that have been passed, the results of the design is a wise hair coloring educational book with the title "Pretty Wise". This design is expected to be an attractive hair dying education for young women 18-25 years. If the teenagers has been educated, it is also expected that the teenager will be able to make wise decisions regarding hair dying in order to get maximum hair dying results.
