Description
Summary:Indonesia is still unable to meet the demand for meat consumed throughout the region. Based on data from the National Central Statistics Office (BPS). The average growth rate for the last 10 years from 2011 to 2021 was -0.84%. Indonesian meat consumption is increasing by an average of 2%. This is certainly one of the problems for the government to meet these needs, one of the ways it is imported. The impact of imported beef on local farmers is the decline in beef selling prices. To increase beef production, the government cooperate with universities, one of which is Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB) has developed a program to improve cattle breeding management, which is called Sekolah Peternakan Rakyat (SPR). The goal of SPR is to improve development and achieve farm independence and sovereignty by producing 1000 cows in one group. The final project observation is SPR Wanaraya which located in the Barito Kuala Regency in the South Kalimantan. Based on the results of the study, the cattle population since it was founded in 2013, the number has dropped further from 1466 to 682 (2021). This is inconsistent with the goals the SPR program is trying to achieve 1000 cows. The method used to solve the problem is investment project analysis with the result of feasibility study are ideal payback period is 1 year faster than the existing one (4.2 years ideal, existing: 5.6 years), the ideal NPV value is Rp. Rp. 6,735,554,367 compared to the existing condition of Rp. 1,181,918,656. and the percentage of IRR in ideal conditions is 27%, while the existing one is 13%. Based on the results of sensitivity analysis, it was found that the selling price of cattle and the number of sales of cattle were the two variables that most affected the NPV value. This study recommends SPR Wanaraya implement ideal breeding, improve financial records by separating personal and business finances and consider financing through debt to get a small cost of capital.
