The agricultural industry in addition to producing crops also produces waste that is rarely reused, including waste from the agricultural processing industry. Aloe vera is a plant that is widely used in Indonesia, both in the health, beauty and food industries. The majority of processed aloe vera products only use the gel and flesh of the fruit, while aloe vera skin is still rarely used and ends up as waste. Sustainable fashion is currently developing a lot, causing soaring innovations in biofibres, which also opens up the possibility to utilize food waste as textile raw material. This research uses exploratory research methods with the aim of exploring aloe vera plant skin waste so that it can be used as an alternative raw material for textiles and can be processed into interior craft products. The results of research and exploration show that aloe vera skin waste can be used as raw material for alternative textiles and processed into craft products so as to reduce agricultural waste, especially aloe vera plants produced. The skin of the aloe vera plant is assisted by several additional ingredients to form a material that has sufficient flexibility and strength so that it can produce a good product. text |

Indonesia as one of the largest agrarian countries has a large population who work as
farmers. The agricultural industry in addition to producing crops also produces waste
that is rarely reused, including waste from the agricultural processing industry. Aloe
vera is a plant that is widely used in Indonesia, both in the health, beauty and food
industries. The majority of processed aloe vera products only use the gel and flesh of
the fruit, while aloe vera skin is still rarely used and ends up as waste. Sustainable
fashion is currently developing a lot, causing soaring innovations in biofibres, which
also opens up the possibility to utilize food waste as textile raw material.
This research uses exploratory research methods with the aim of exploring aloe vera
plant skin waste so that it can be used as an alternative raw material for textiles and
can be processed into interior craft products. The results of research and exploration
show that aloe vera skin waste can be used as raw material for alternative textiles and
processed into craft products so as to reduce agricultural waste, especially aloe vera
plants produced. The skin of the aloe vera plant is assisted by several additional
ingredients to form a material that has sufficient flexibility and strength so that it can
produce a good product.
