Psychological problems experienced by a person can vary, from self-blame to suicide. The social impact of death is the existence of death facilities. Death facilities area not wanted in settlement, give a negative meaning. Therefore, the current death facility needs a design that is the psychological needs of the bereaved and changes the negative stigma of this building.
Architecture as a physical environment affects brain and behavior. This is discussed in the theory of Neuroarchitecture, the collaboration of neuroscience and architecture which bases the concept of architecture in neuroscience, so that spatial aspects or spaces can be seen through neural correlations and space perception. This scientific study is often related and discusses an environment that can modify the thoughts, emotions, and behavior of building users.
The design thesis proposal explores the design of death facilities that can achieve a sense of calm and peace through multisensory approach from theory of neuroarchitecture. The design integrates the relationship between the environment, thoughts and behaviors that can affect a person's emotional and physical health. The design method uses a literature study on the typology of death, perception, and Neuroarchitecture. The design 5 multisensory deisgn criteria as the implementation of architectural configuration. The result of implementation criteria design shows several important points in designing death facilities. The design is expected to provide an overview of facilities, spaces that physically provide calm and peace for the bereaved and around.
