Cikapundung is a river that crosses West Bandung Regency, Bandung City, and Bandung Regency. This river shows various differences in the land use of its riverbanks. Excessive use of land with various developments in the riverbank area has resulted in the destruction of the river and its banks. This threat of damage can continue to occur if there is no change in the use and thinking of the community regarding the riverbank area. Related to continuous development in riverside areas, it will increase various threats such as river pollution, flooding, reduced diversity of riverside animals and vegetation, slum riverside views and reduced availability of clean water. The study of landscape design in the Cikapundung River bank area, especially in the Tjibarani Village segment, Bandung City, aims to be able to assist in the formation of riverside area designs that are expected to be used by the community in managing and developing the area in the future. Various activities have been carried out by communities in the area, such as educational activities about the Cikapundung river and its surrounding environment, urban farming, community discussions, buying and selling local products, and various collaborative activities between communities such as river cleaning and tree planting. The discussion process with the community led to the formation of designs for new spaces that could help accommodate the activities of the community. Design of community rooms equipped with hut facilities for discussion, education and various other activities, addition of urban farming spots to help meet community food needs, manufacture of information and education board facilities, as well as a conservation room to facilitate conservation of river water and endemic fish . The design of this area can help facilitate the community in disseminating education related to the river and the surrounding environment including the use of riverside land to the community.
