Description
Summary:Slope stability analysis is one of the most important aspects and must be considered in the mining activity because mineral and coal open pit mining activities will always face problems related to slope stability. The reference in determining the level of slope stability in Indonesia is the Decree of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Number 1827 K/30/MEM/2018. In this study, an analysis of the stability of the heap leach slope will be carried out at PT XYZ. Stability analysis was carried out to determine the value of the slope safety factor using the limit equilibrium method using Slide v6.0 software. The slice method used was the Janbu simplified method for non-circular slides in each slip plane. The data for calculating the safety factor (SF) was obtained from literature and laboratory tests. The results of the analysis show that the safety factor of the heap leach slope due to the influence of water (saturated slope) are 1.08 (model 1) and 1.05 (model 2). Meanwhile, the safety factor of the heap leach slope due to the influence of bench width on lift 5 are 1.03 (model 1) and 1.15 (model 2). It can be concluded that the slope is not stable referring the regulations. Recommendations for stabilizing the slopes are then providing the counterweights at the toe of the slope, coating the slopes using a geotextile layer, creating horizontal drainage, and ensuring that the slopes are made follow the planned geometry. These recommendations are given in order to increase the safety factor and meet the criteria according to the Decree of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Number 1827 K/30/MEM/2018.
