In the long term, this problem can lead to a decrease in the quality of relationships between individuals and a reduction in comfort while working. In Indonesia, one occurrence of intergenerational gaps in the world of work happens in the city of Semarang, precisely in startup companies. Based on data from Deloitte Indonesia, 70% of startup companies are considered to have poor performance due to problems related to intergenerational gaps, such as poor communication between employees. Therefore, the procurement of a project that can help reduce the gap between generations will have a positive impact on the world of work in the city of Semarang. Broadly speaking, this project aims to create facilities that support employees of startup companies in Semarang to improve the quality of the work environment in order to reduce the negative impact of the intergenerational gaps. This goal is channeled through the application of three main concepts, namely the creation of an environment that supports social interaction, the creation of a work-life balance supporting environment, and the creation of spatial comfort and accessibility in the created environment. Specifically, the project to be designed is located on Jalan Supriyadi, Pedurungan District, Semarang City. The location was chosen on the basis of the function of area development, quality of surrounding facilities, population conditions, land economy, and accessibility. The project consists of a combination between rental offices and social spaces that carry the slogan “bridging the gap” because it wants to create space for the reduction of intergenerational gaps in Semarang’s world of work. text |
