Description
Summary:West Bandung Regency is a strategic area that is included in the regional constellation of West Java as the main gate to the Greater Bandung City. The existence of a National Strategic Project, namely the Kereta Cepat Jakarta Bandung (KCJB) project supports the development of the TOD area in West Bandung Regency. The development of the TOD area is planned to be located in TOD Walini area, but there are several problems in the area. Therefore, there is a plan to move the Walini TOD area to the Padalarang Station TOD because the area is more strategic and includes the Bandung City Service Center. The characteristic of the TOD area of Padalarang Station has vacant land that can be developed more widely with better land and slope capabilities, so the Infill Development approach is one of the important approaches used in designing the TOD area of Padalarang Station. However, the TOD area of Padalarang Station also has several problems that must be identified, so it is necessary to review aspects and components that must be considered in the use of the Infill Development approach in the TOD area. This study focuses on finding out how the principles of designing the TOD area by considering the site and design criteria of the Infill Development approach through a qualitative descriptive method on a literature review and identifying the potential characteristics and problems of the area and their formulation using the fragmental method. This study concludes that the formulation of the TOD area design principles can use the Infill Development approach according to site and design criteria that need to be considered. Meanwhile, several things that must be considered in the use of Infill Development in the TOD area are the creation of areas with appropriate land use, the provision of active and attractive buildings in accordance with the harmony of the height and massing building, the provision of transit nodes, the design of vacant land in accordance with the infill principle, and the development of lanes are integrated by pedestrian and bicycle paths.
