PERMEABLE ZONE ANALYSIS BASED ON THE ROCK QUALITY DESIGNATION AND TEMPERATURE GRADIENT AND THEIR RELATIONSHIP WITH RADON GAS ACTIVITY AT PATUHA GEOTHERMAL FIELD AREA, CIWIDEY, BANDUNG REGENCY

In accordance with Government Regulation No. 79 of 2014, the target for the new and renewable energy mix in 2025 is at least 23% and 31% in 2050. Geothermal is the only new and renewable energy that shows an increasing role in the energy mix in Indonesia. In addition to requiring a heat source and t...

Geothermal is the only new and renewable energy that shows an increasing role in the energy mix in Indonesia. In addition to requiring a heat source and the presence of a reservoir, the permeable zone is an essential variable to be identified in the development of geothermal fields. Several parameters used to identify the permeable zone are the fracture zone. In this study, two drilling points have been determined which represent the upflow and outflow zones of the Patuha geothermal field, Bandung Regency. The results of drilling in the form of rock cores will be calculated through Rock Quality Designation (RQD) as a method that can interpret the indications of fracture intensity in the rock and the quality of the rock mass. Almost every fracture zone has a high fracture intensity. After the drilling process is complete, a temperature logging process is carried out based on a thermal gradient for every 100 m of subsidence in the earth's surface, the temperature will increase by 2.5 °C so that if a very striking temperature increase is found, it can indicate a fracture zone as a fluid transport path from the heat source to the heat source. surface. The results of this study will also be correlated with the concentration of radon gas as a surface gas obtained in the 2020 study to obtain verification related to radon gas activity and its permeability zone. Radon as a pure gas originating from within and/or rock activity below the earth's surface becomes easily transported to the surface with the help of a permeable zone so that the permeable zone makes it easier for fluids, both water and gas, to escape to the surface. text
