This is because nanomaterial has a larger surface area than bulk material, and quantum effects of material can affect properties of nanomaterial. Currently, nanoparticle synthesis method has been developed considered environmentally friendly and safe, that is green synthesis nanoparticle method. In this research, it will be going to make green synthesis ZnO nanoparticles using extract of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.). The objectives that will be achieved in this research are making ZnO nanoparticles with the addition of cucumber extract, determine the effect of zinc nitrate concentration on ZnO nanoparticles, determine the physical and chemical properties of ZnO nanoparticles, and determine the chemical content of ZnO nanoparticles that potential applied as sunscreen product. In this final project, this research will be carried out by varied the concentration of zinc nitrate and extract. The experimental steps are extraction, synthesis, and characterization of physical and chemical properties using UVVisible, photoluminescence, Particle Size Analyzer (PSA), FourierTransform Infrared (FTIR). Then the results of the characterization will be analyzed. The results of this research that has been carried out, it was found that cucumber extract can be used as a medium for green synthesis of ZnO nanoparticles. Each variation of zinc nitrate and extract used in the synthesis process will produce different characteristics of ZnO nanoparticles. text |
