For both domestic and international tourists visiting Batam, this makes Batam City a gastronomic tourism attraction, particularly for seafood. The culinary industry itself may be a very powerful tourist draw and location strategy. Visitors can identify each region's distinctiveness through its cuisine. Because each destination can utilize cuisine to convey its cultural experience, status, and location, the relationship between gastronomic and tourism cannot be separated. In addition to its natural assets, Batam itself has enormous cultural potential. One of the cities with a predominantly native Malay population is Batam. The site for the chosen design is at Mentarau Historic Village in Patam Lestari Village, one of the Sekupang District's old villages. Before Batam was created in 1970, Kampung Tua served as a neighborhood for Batam City's original inhabitants, and it continues to be rich in religious, cultural, and historical traditions. Historical relics from the Malay Land have been lost as a result of the old villages in Batam City that are still being expelled. It is intended that through charting the old hamlet, the Malay peculiarities of the old village will be preserved. Due to Kampung Tua's proximity to the ocean, there is a significant potential for the growth of a beachfront neighborhood in Batam City. The concept of developing a seafront area can give a city a distinct identity. As is well known, the rise of modern minimalist architecture has led to a loss of regional character in many places. Indonesian cultural riches include the architecture of the archipelago. Particularly in Batam City, the diversity of Indonesian cuisine offered at eateries with archipelago design will impart a unique Indonesian flavor that cannot be found anywhere else. It requires a restaurant design that incorporates regional architecture and decor that emphasize the local ambiance of culture. Additionally, Batam's waterfront area has the potential to serve as a tourist destination and a representation of the city, region, and nation, which makes it useful for planning and enhancing the immediate environment. By using a regionalism architectural approach, we hope to preserve the distinctive characteristics of the traditional Riau Malay building in this design for the culinary center. The application of regionalism in architecture creates a setting and a building expression that are representative of the Riau Malay culture. The building's orientation, the roof's shape, the steps, and the customary Malay embellishments are only a few examples of how the design enriches Malay culture and architecture. With further contemporary modifications, the design is anticipated to restore the region's architectural identity. text
