Almost there is an overload of the water distribution in the unit water system resulting in many water disposals makes inefficiency. Therefore, required an efficient water distribution system. In this case, water distribution must right on time and the number.
The Bila Rivers is a main resource of Sidrap Regency, which in this times it is has been used for irrigation. A prediction about increasing of water demand occurred especially in Domestic, Municipal, and Industry (DMI) in the future accompanied by decreasing of resource, it makes offer an attempt to makes early anticipation by using of processing strategy on existing water resource for optimum usage.

In order to optimize the water resource of Bila River, water using and irrigation of Bila productivity should have to be maximized. Cropping Pattern method (Paddy-Paddy) and continuous flow system in tertiary unit of Bila Irrigation area, result in inefficiency in use the water because there many wasted water. Thus, to improve of efficiency required a review toward the planning result of water distribution in tertiary unit and Cropping Pattern system.

The water distribution system in tertiary compartment according to the existing plant had any several alternatives can implemented: continuous flow system and intermittent flow system.

The study presented by this thesis aimed to review on efficiency of using the water by continuous flow system than other one (intermittent flow system) and examine of water demand in existing condition than other implemented alternative one resulting in maximum Water Balance.

According to the review result obtained an efficiency score of 77,6persen, which it shown that second system is more efficiency and cropping pattern system (Paddy-Paddy-Palawija) by continuous flow with cropping intensity in MT I result in maximum Water Balance. Moreover, based on the activity of paddy pilot project with SRI pattern of Tertiary Unit in Special Territory of Kiru-kiru in 2006 show that irrigation water usage in pattern of SRI (System of Rice Intensification) than pattern of Non SRI about 30.49persen. |
