Spinach has high economic potential through an organic farming approach which has a higher selling price and lower production costs because the fertilizer, one of the largest cost component, can be produced by farmers can produce independently. One type of fertilizer that has the potential to be produced by small-scale and urban farmers is insect frass through organic waste processing. An example of this organic fertilizer is kasgot (bekas maggot), which is the residue from the processing of organic by the larvae of the black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens). The purpose of this research is to obtain information related to the comparison of effect of kasgot ferltilizer application on growth, productivity, and quality of spinach with chemical synthetic fertilizers and conventional organic fertilizers (goat and cow manure). The study was conducted using 30 spinach plants with 5 types of fertilizers (A (no fertilizer), B (kasgot), C (goat manure), D (cow manure), and E (synthetic NPK)). Research results showed that kasgot fertilizer had the highest N substance and goat manure had the highest P and K substances. Treatment B produced the highest value in the parameters of plant height, number of leaves, total leaves area, and wet biomass weight. The results showed differences in vitamin C content due to the treatment of different types. Research results showed that kasgot fertilizer has better results than manure goat and cow manure as an alternative to synthetic NPK fertilizer. text |
