Description
Summary:Kale is a vegetable horticultural commodity that is of high interest among the public due to its efficacy and delicious taste. Black Soldier Fly can be used as an agent to convert industrial waste residues into useful products such as organic fertilizers that are safe for the ecosystem and the surrounding environment. This study aims to determine the effect of compost used by Black Soldier Fly maggots on the growth performance of curly kale plants. This research was conducted at the SITH ITB screenhouse using curly kale (Brassica oleracea) and BIS (Palm Kernel Meal) cassava compost, Onggok Singkong cassava compost, and Pakan Ayam Komersil cassava compost. The results showed that the best treatment based on the parameters of plant height, number of leaves, fresh weight of crown, and fresh weight of roots was PAK compost. Meanwhile, in terms of the amount of chlorophyll, the best treatment was Cassava Onggok compost.
