ESTIMASI TEKANAN PARSIAL KARBONDIOKSIDA (PCO2) DAN KEASAMAN LAUT (PH) DI TELUK BALIKPAPAN - KALIMANTAN TIMUR

Balikpapan Bay is located in East Kalimantan Province which will be part of the location of the new Indonesian State Capital (IKN). The relocation of IKN will increase the population of land clearing. These waters are downstream from the flow of several rivers, such as the Somber River, Wain River,...

The relocation of IKN will increase the population of land clearing. These waters are downstream from the flow of several rivers, such as the Somber River, Wain River, Semoi River, Sepaku River, Somber River, Kariangau River, and Riko River. Indirectly, the amount of CO2 also increased along with the increase in human activities in the area. Increased concentrations of carbon and nutrients from land runoff will affect the carbon cycle in the ocean. The concentration of pH and partial pressure of marine carbon dioxide (pCO2sw) is one part of the carbon system in the ocean. In this study, the estimation of pH and pCO2sw are done using CO2calc software. Model input data to calculate the pH and pCO2sw values are Sea Surface Temperature (SST), Sea Surface Salinity (SSS), Total Alkalinity (TA), Dissolved Inorganic Carbon (DIC), and phosphate field data observed in June and October 2021. The results of the estimation of the pH value of the model on the field measurement pH have a correlation value of 0.44, BIAS value of 0.167, and RMSE values of 0.3949. It can be said that the pH value of the CO2calc calculation model is overestimated compared to field data. Based on the model calculations, in June the value of pCO2sw in Balikpapan Bay ranged from 15.78 - 21.27 ?atm, while in October the value of pCO2sw ranged from 1.815 - 143.75 ?atm. The pH value from the model in Balikpapan Bay in 2021 obtained shows that in June the pH value ranged from 8.644-8.96, while in October the pH value has a fairly large range (more alkaline) between 8.11 - 9.44. text
