Summary:The design scope for the construction of an industrial based automotive vocational school, Bekasi consists of student practice building and connecting bridge. The roof of student practice building comprises a series of plane steel trusses with pin supports and for the connecting bridge will use truss bridge with roll-pin supports. Based on SNI 1726:2019, the soil condition at this site is classified as SE soil and categorized as seismic design category D (KDS D). The lateral force resisting system of the concrete structure is planned to use the Special Moment Frame System, also for the roof and connecting bridge is planned to use ordinary concentric braced frame. Modelling of the concrete structures is carried out using ETABS 20 while the roof and connecting bridge structure is separately modelled using SAP2000. Structure designed loads according to SNI 1727-2020 on Minimum Design Loads for Buildings and Other Structures, SNI 1726-2019 on Design Procedures of Earthquake Resistant Building and Non-Building Structures. Design analysis indicates that the student practice structure possesses horizontal irregularity type 2 and 5, which results in several penalties to be complied. Standard detailing on this lateral force resisting system will ensure that the desired ductility is achieved. Drawings of the Detailed Engineering Design results from the design will be used as a reference in the construction process.
