In order to achieve good waste management, data related to waste management in the field is needed. In reality, waste data is still relatively expensive. This limited data is often an obstacle in formulating appropriate processing related to waste management. Therefore, data on the generation, composition and characteristics of household waste are needed, its khusus in densely populated areas and minimal waste data. One of the districts in Cimahi City that has the most populous population is Cimahi Tengah, yang consists of 6 villages, namely Baros, Cigugur Tengah, Cimahi, Karangmekar, Padasuka, and Setiamanah.The purpose of this study is to determine the generation, composition, characteristics, and potential of household waste management into RDF. Waste processed as fuel or commonly known as RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel) is one of the alternative technologies that has the potential to overcome waste processing problems, especially household waste with large and continuous generation.The research was conducted in Cimahi Tengah District through field research. The collected data will be analyzed descriptively and then evaluated. Data collection and collection based on SNI 19-3964- 1994, with a total sample of 40 consisting of high, low and middle income community groups. Sampling was carried out for 8 (eight) consecutive days. Household waste generation in Cimahi Tengah District is 0.226 kg / person / day and 2.862 liters / person / day with the composition of waste produced in Central Cimahi District successively based on the most composition consisting of 49.94% food waste; 13.17% plastic; 9.52% paper; 7.17% diapers; 2.86% garden waste; 2.83% glass; 1.97% household B3; 1.67% metal; 1.10% textiles; 0.36% rubber and leather and leather and 9.20% miscellaneous (residual). The characteristics of household waste mixed in Cimahi Tengah District using proximate analysis with a mixed waste water content of 65.88%, volatile content of 55.32%, ash content of 14.60%, fix carbon of 10.44% and calorific value of 3,882.54 Kcal / Kg.There is a total of 30.05 tons of waste per day of 84.32% and can be increased up to 148.96 tons / day (Cimahi City scale) of waste which can be thermally used as raw material for RDF with an average calorific value of 3217 Kcal / kg to 3,882.54 Kcal / kg which has met the minimum heat for RDF. The characteristics of waste in Central Cimahi have a high water content, so a pre-treatment is needed to reduce the water content. The pre-treatment carried out can be in the form of drying and enumeration so that the quality of the resulting RDF becomes better and in accordance with the required criteria. text |
