Summary:Hydraulic fracturing is a common method in increasing productivity of a certain well. Various correlations had been developed to illustrate the magnitude of increase in productivity after fracturing. Correlation in determining the productivity index increase which is commonly known are those from McGuire-Sikora which was developed using potentiometer and Prats correlation with bilinear flow concept and uniform width model, both are for fracturing in a vertical well. Well X-03 is a horizontal well in a carbonate reservoir Y which has permeability and porosity within the range of 0.1-110 D and 1-2percent. Using a reservoir simulation, fracturing of well X-03 modelled with Local Grid refinement (LGR) at the well-bore area. LGR method is being used to increase the accuracy of numerical calculations of the results of simulations. This study proposed a calculation method to find a new correlation in determining the hydraulic fracture efficiency as a function of relative conductivity and fracture extent which is presented in a graphical form. The graph shows that at low relative conductivity, hydraulic fracture efficiency would have a similar value at various fracture length. Hydraulic fracture efficiency has an optimum value in its relation with reservoir permeability.
