Summary: | Centrifugal compressors have the advantages of a higher pressure-per-stage ratio, are lighter, cheaper and easier to manufacture than axial compressors. Centrifugal compressor performance value can be known by using several approaches such as experimental, CFD, and analytical. In the experimental approach it takes a long time to get the performance value, as well as CFD. Therefore, researchers try to use an analytical approach that can perform calculations in a fast time and can produce accurate values.
The results of this study are in the form of a graph of the compressor performance map and the flow properties produced by the compressor. The program made produces a fairly small difference when validated using an analytical approach with the same property conditions, but the difference is quite large when compared to the CFD results (Firas, 2022) of about 5% on the pressure and efficiency ratio curve. In addition, differences are also seen in the case studies due to the different approaches and turbulent models used.
