Summary: | Abstract

The sale of tea in PTPN VIII is sold in an auction in Jakarta. It has been executed based on information of tea stock in warehouse land (in 30 locations in all of West Java area).

By using Free On Board (FOB) sale system, PTPN has to provide tea for consumer order in Tanjung Pnok.
In this thesis, the attitude of various alternatives of distribution system was learned. One of them was an alternative proposed which was expected to improve performance system both real condition (demand and production in normal distribution) and condition influenced by increasing and decreasing demand or production.

The result of study showed that the distribution of an alternative proposed in various conditions generally had better performance. It based on economic valueltot.al disrtbution cost, and level of service.

Eighty percent (80%) of thirty (30) lands owned by PTPN VIII had to distribute tea to Tanjung Priok passing Container Terminal of Gede Bage by train (as the alternative proposed). Twenty percent (20 %) lands had to send tea directly from warehouse land to Tanjung Priok by Truck.

Based on hypothesis teat by using one tail variance analysis which was treated in both conditions for each alternatives, on the level of significant a •- 5%, a = 10%, slowed that demand and production pattern did not affect total distribution cost It just affected the level of se-vice.

By using the alternative proposed which decreased the average of fourteen percent (14%) of LHR (Lalu Lintas Harlan Rata-Rata) for Bandung - Jakarta route (Bandung - Tel Panci - Padalarang - Cikalong wetan - Panglejar - Bukit Wadon II - Plered - 3ukatani - Purwakarta - Terminal Bus Sadang -- Tol Cikampek - Tol Cawang - Tol Cakung - Tol Cilincing - Tanjung Prick).

|
