Description
Summary:South Putusibau District is a sub-district in Kapuas Hulu Regency which is the second largest district in West Kalimantan. In this district there is a river that flows, namely the Kapuas River. The Kapuas River flows right in the middle of South Putusibau District. One of the main causes of flood disasters is high rainfall intensity and the case study area is in a basin area, in addition to flooding, the problem that occurs is that riverbank scouring occurs on the outside of bends and at the foot of the riverbank, especially during floods. This condition continues so that riverbank erosion occurs. This study is intended to plan a flood control system to increase the maximum capacity of the river so that it can accommodate larger water discharges and for critical riverbank management to prevent erosion that occurs on riverbanks in the Kapuas River. The planned structures are embankments and sheet piles on the banks of the river for flood control as well as steel and concrete sheet piles for crticical riverbank management. Hydraulic modeling was carried out using HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS software. The feature used in the modeling using HEC-RAS is 2D (one-dimensional) which examines the flow velocity in the river and flood inundation on the affected land.
