Summary: | Babakan Village is a village at Ciwaringin District, Cirebon Regency. This village
has 70 school and boarding school that provide educational service for local
society or immigrant. It has increased the immigrant for about 8000-9000 people.
High immigrant has increased the daily activities at Babakan Village. It also
increases the residual of the activity like waste. Unfortunately, the waste
management is still not optimal. It proved by the illegal temporary trash area that
showed inside the village. MASARO ITB present at Babakan Village to solve this
problem. To simplify the problem MASARO devided waste to be 5 kinds of waste.
These are biodegradable waste, recycle waste, plastic film waste, waste to energy
and hazardous waste. One of MASARO technology that built is plastic refinery
MASARO. It placed at TPS3R-MASARO Kijatira.
Plastic refinery MASARO is technology to process waste to energy at incinerator
and plastic film waste at pyrolysis. The concept of plastic refinery MASARO is to
use the energy released form the incineration processfor pyrolysis process. Plastic
refinery MASARO as several improvement to increase the performance. The
technology that built at TPS3R-MASARO Kijatira is plastic refinery MASARO fifth
generation (G5). It has new concept with combine the incinerator and piyrolysator
at one place. The study abut this plastic refinery MASARO is conducted with several
goals. They are study about waste composition that processed at plastic refinery
MASARA at TPS3R-Masaro Kijatira; prediction the characteristic of incinerator
feed;determine the distribution and profile temperature along the furnace at
feeding characteristic variation and operation methode variation;determine
distribution and profile temperature of pyrolysis at feeding characteristic variation
and operation methode variation of incinerator; study about product yield and
analysysis obtained from incinerator and pyrolysator. This study occurred at pilot
scale plastic refinery TS3R-MASARO Kijatira Babakan Village. The source of the
waste is from the village society directly. Variation of waste characteristic are
mixed waste and sorting waste. Variation of operation methode are batch and
continuous. And variation of pyrolysis feed are LDPE and LDPE with used lube oil. Experiment result show waste composition handling at plastic refinery MASARO
TPS3R-MASARO Kijatira Babakan Village are 46,7% is waste to energy, 46,1% is
decay waste, 3,1% is recycle waste, 2,6% is dangerous waste, and 1,6% is plastic
film waste. Prediction of waste characterisation show mositure content and heating
value of mixed waste for 30,86% and 20,19 MJ/kg while for sorting waste are
11,78% and 21,48 MJ/kg. Distribution and temperature profile at plastic refinery
MASARO showed that side b is the dominant side for occuring channeling and
combusting. Distribution and temperature profile at plastic refinery MASARO has
similar combustion between every level except for continous mixed waste
incineration. Maximum pyrolysis temperature at batch mixed waste combustion is
at 169-231 oC; at mixed waste continuous is at 260-293 oC; sorting waste batch is
at 319-329 oC and sorting waste continuous is at 368-372 oC. Shrinkage of
Inceneration waste reach 77-89%. Characteristic of wastewater srubber of
inceneration that out spect to release at environment are COD, BOD, nitrate, and
phenol. Characteristic of flue gas that out spect to environment release are opacity
and CO. High yield pyrolysis oil is 12,15 % at 368 oC and 55 minutes process.
Liquid product of LDPE and LDPE waste lube oil have heating value about 25-26
MJ/kg. Solid residu of pyrolysis have heating value about 26-26,5 MJ/kg. |
