For large-scale microalgae cultivation, synthetic media is not an economical alternative. The use of wastewater for microalgae cultivation is being developed to support sustainable microalgae cultivation. Due to the complexity and variability of wastewater, microalgae cultures used for remediation purposes are expected to have high stability and resistance. Therefore, in this study, single and mixed culture microalgae cultivation was carried out for 7 days on ADDMW waste media which was diluted 25 times with the ratio of microalgae culture and waste media was 1:4 (v/v) and the ratio of Spirulina sp. and Nannochloropsis sp. in mixed culture was 1:1 (v/v) to see its effect on cell growth and biomass, protein production on day 3, and waste remediation. The data taken during the cultivation process in the open raceway pond were the number of cells and the weight of the biomass for 7 days of cultivation. Protein content was taken once during the cultivation process, on the 3rd day, and waste concentration was taken at the beginning and end of the cultivation process. In biomass production, the highest values of specific growth rate, biomass yield, and biomass productivity were produced in the mixed culture variation of Spirulina sp. and Nannochloropsis sp., which were 3.14 day-1, 3.33 g L-1, and 0.40 g L-1 day-1, respectively. The highest protein content on day 3 was obtained in a mixed culture variation of 60%, whereas in a single culture of Spirulina sp. by 44% and single culture of Nannochloropsis sp. by 40%. Mixed culture had the highest percentage of nitrate reduction of 74.47%. The culture of Nannochloropsis sp. had the highest percentage reduction in ammonium, COD, and BOD of 88.29%, 20.01%, and 20.34%, respectively. Culture of Spirulina sp. has the highest percentage of orthophosphate reduction of 96.42%. The mixed culture was superior based on its ability to produce biomass and protein, while the culture of Nannochloropsis sp. superior based on its ability to remediate ADDMW waste. text
