In order to compete with other competitors, a company needs to invest in its human capital by expanding its capabilities and knowledge. By utilizing the intellectual and knowledge-based assets, the knowledge management (“KM”) can be used by the organization to empower knowledge sharing among the employees and customers while increasing productivity and service quality. The development of KM governance to be implemented within the organization therefore is very crucial to ensure such knowledge is appropriately acquired, stored, and used by the organization. The effectiveness of managing knowledge could enhance employee competency by providing them the access to the relevant knowledge they needed. In this research, the author will identify the problems faced by PT Pegasus Air Services in implementing knowledge management system and propose solution to such key issues. Knowledge management enablers consisting of people, process, technology, and governance are the key drivers using in this research to point out the challenges faced by the company. Furthermore, SECI framework also addressed in the research to understand the knowledge generation in organization (Nonaka, 1994). The qualitative method was used in this research by conducting interview, observation, and data archived analysis. The result showed that there were issues related to the application of knowledge management enabler. The present approach for knowledge management in the company did not perform successfully since knowledge was not transferred evenly to the employees, resulting in frequent misunderstanding across departments. Mismanaged knowledge dissemination also results in a lack of initiative on the part of the employee to be more inventive in their responsibilities. Existing SECI difficulties included socialization, combination, internalization, and externalization, where there is a lack of a shared tacit knowledge forum and recorded knowledge inside the organization. The business solution later was determined from the data analysis. Author suggest a new governance need to be establish to ensure that the knowledge management system fulfill its objective created by the top management. The company need increase the knowledge sharing forum to enables new working environment that endorse the knowledge sharing culture. The implementation of new design of knowledge management should also supervise by dedicated personnel that evaluate the system from time to time. text
