In this study, napier grass (Pennisetum purpureum) and Typha latifolia were used as remidiator agents for tofu waste water. P. purpureum from phytoremediation then fermented anaerobically to produce biogas and bioslurry. Solid bioslurry used as a matrix filler based on gelatin to produce biodegradable foam. In the phytoremediation stage the variations of tofu liquid waste used were control, 40%, 60% (V/V). Various phytoremediation plant materials are used in the anaerobic digestion process. In the manufacture of biodegradable foam using a mass of fiber (0.5 g and 1 g) from a variation of T60%. The results of phytoremediation of tofu liquid waste with P. purpureum and T. latifolia as remediators showed the highest removal in the T60% variation of tofu liquid waste for BOD, COD, NH3, respectively 95%, 95%, 99%. P. purpureum had better growth at a variation of T60%, while T. latifolia at T40% as indicated by the RGR values of both 0.086 and 0.059 g. g-1. Day-1. Biodegradable foam was compared to flexible polyurethane foam (FPF) based on characteristics, Ultimate Tensile Strength (UTS), elongation, modulus of elasticity, and biodegradability. Biodegradable foam which has the highest UTS and elongation values is achieved by T0.5 and when compared to FPF biodegradable foam is better. The modulus of elasticity of biodegradable foam is smaller than the value of the modulus of elasticity of commercial FPF. The biodegradable foam produced in this study takes less than 7 days to decompose. Based on these parameters, the biodegradable foam produced in this study can be an enviromentally friendly of commercial FPF text |
