The methods of measuring mangrove density and taking sediment samples were transect and sediment trap methods. Measurements of sea water quality and current velocity are carried out as supporting data. The sediment samples are then tested and analyzed in the laboratory to determine their dry weight, size, and specific gravity. The mangrove density that has been measured consists of 5 stations with very dense density and 2 rare stations. The measured mangrove density range is 0 – 4,850 individuals/ha. The weight of the sample obtained is around 0.336 – 0.815 kg with a grain size of sediment (D60) 0.0017 – 0.0036 mm so it is categorized as clay. Sediment deposition rates ranged from 2.553 – 6.187 kg/m3/day. The most influential factors on the rate of sediment deposition were the weight of the composition of clay, silt, and the size of D60 with correlations of 0.996, 0.919, and -0.914. The correlation between mangrove density and sediment deposition rate is 0.686. Therefore, increasing mangrove density can increase the rate of sediment deposition. In addition, the current velocity also contributes to the rate of sediment deposition with an inverse relationship and the correlation value is -0.525. text
