Summary: | PT Press Kogyo Manufacturing Indonesia (PKMI) is a subsidiary of Press Kogyo Japan which
produces side member trucks, buses, and frame assembling for small trucks and passenger cars.
The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 has resulted in a very significant decline in
production in the national and global automotive industry. To be able to survive and moreover to
be able to grow in these conditions requires continuous innovative efforts, as well as PT Press
Kogyo Manufacturing Indonesia, which has been continuously trying to make continuous
improvements. One of the efforts to continue to innovate to improve product quality standards, by
applying the Knowledge Management Cycle concept, we make the main material of this final
project.
The research experience related to this thesis provided an important understanding for us, that
change is a necessity, and what is important for us is – how to build an organization that is able to
respond to change quickly – and we believe that the ability to adapt quickly is a critical skill in
today's era. . To be able to react quickly, we need special efforts from the leadership so that all
work units in all parts of the company must have high sensitivity and be able to respond quickly
and correctly to the demands of changes that occur.
With the existing business issues and business plans, an application of the knowledge management
cycle was carried out which was considered capable of providing solutions and benefits for the
company.
This final project focuses on efforts to implement the knowledge management cycle using the
Meyer and Zack model, complete for the five stages, namely the stages of knowledge acquisition,
knowledge refinement, knowledge storage/retrieval, knowledge distribution, and knowledge
presentation/implementation.
It is hoped that the results of this final project can be an alternative strategy for PT. PKMI in order
to become a company that is able to survive and grow and develop sustainably. |
