The causative mechanism of ENSO in MC is not yet known, therefore this study aims to analyze the differences in the impact of ENSO. This study uses a linearized global climate model, namely the Linear Baroclinic Model (LBM). LBM is used to simulate the effect of Sea Surface Temperature (SSTa) anomaly on rainfall in MC. SST anomaly data are grouped into two, namely El Nino-dry and El Nino-wet. The grouped data is used in the LBM simulation as SSTa forcing. The results showed that the El Nino-dry and El Nino-wet LBM control simulations had rainfall patterns similar to observations. The simulation results of El Nino-dry scenario (2) where most of the SST is negative on the Maritime Continent, rainfall on the Maritime Continent experiences a negative anomaly. While the LBM simulation for El Nino-wet scenario (2) where most of the SST is positive in the Maritime Continent, the simulation results show the opposite. text
