Description
Summary:Energy needs in Indonesia are increasing and inversely proportional to the availability and production of energy itself. One of the efforts that can be done to overcome this problem is to encourage the use of wood as biomass. The purpose of this study is to analyze the productivity of Gamal as an energy plant at KPH Purwakarta and project the potential of Gamal for electricity supply in the conditions of two different sites. The study was conducted on 128 samples of Gamal stands growing poorly on treads 69E-1 and 142 on good-growing Gamal samples located on plots 70C-2 where both plots were planted Gamal which had the same age, namely research was carried out in the third year of planting. Obtained research data in the form of height, diameter and volume in each Gamal condition with high riap, diameter and volume in Gamal grew well successively was 0.9368 m/year, 0.047 m/year and 0.0156 m3/year and high riap, diameter and volume of Gamal grew less successively is 0.726 m/year, 0.013 m/year and 0.00135 m3/year. The projection of Gamal dimensionality addition using the leslie matrix method obtained the value of increasing the dimensions of height, diameter and volume in Gamal growing less well was 6.3 cm, 0.071 cm and 0.0104 cm3 and the value of increasing the dimensions of Gamal growing well successively was 19.1 cm, 0.36 cm, 0.049 cm3 with the rate of increase in dimensions of height, diameter and volume respectively is 5%, 3.5%, and 1.5% for Gamal grows good rates and for Gamal that grow well have the rate of increase in dimensions of height, diameter and volume respectively is 4.9%, 4.55% and 2.1%. Model The results showed that the characteristics of the stand (the area of the base plane, the number of trees and the size / diameter of the tree) had a different effect on the ingrowth, upgrowth, and mortality models of stands in each Gamal condition (Gamal grows well and is not good). From the data projection, the increase in volume dimensions obtained the potential for Gamal to grow well on a land area of 1 ha is 1,663,298 cm3 and 116,635 cm3 for the potential of Gamal that grows less well. Planting energy crops in KPH Purwakarta on a total land area of 10.94 ha (on plots 70C-2 and 69E-1) will have the potential to generate electrical energy of 67,684,033 watts/year.
