As one of the efforts to improve the competence, professionalism, and productivity of the national construction workforce, it is necessary to analyze the enabler and barrier factors for professional female workers who work in the construction industry in Indonesia. By doing so, a strategy can be taken as an effort to improve work culture and work environment in order to produce better work performance of those female employees. This study aims to identify the enabler and barrier factors for women to participate in the construction industry and provide strategies that need to be carried out to help these women carry out their duties and responsibilities in the industry. The enabler factors that motivate women to choose a study program related to the construction industry are interest in the STEM field and the influence of their parents. While the barrier factor is the difficulty in studying the field of STEM disciplines. The enabler factors that motivate female employees in the construction industry to stay in their jobs are interest in the construction industry, having a basic knowledge of the construction industry, support from family, a supportive work environment, and equal promotion opportunities. Meanwhile, the barrier factors are the bad image of the construction industry, the balance between work and family, long working hours, and the far working location from family. The strategy that should be carried out for female students is the need to provide basic knowledge and the application of gender equality at the education stage. Meanwhile, the strategy for female employees is the establishment and implementation of regulations, policy review, program procurement, and socialization related to gender equality in construction industry companies. text
